Profile of our Executive Producer
Loris Crawford, the founder of Art Off The Main brings over twenty years experience in marketing art, access to a large collector base, community and sponsor support to the production of this extraordinary event.
Ms. Crawford is the founder of Savacou Gallery, one of the oldest galleries in the United States specializing in African, Caribbean and African-American.
A much respected expert in field, she has lectured extensively on the African, African-American, Caribbean and Latin American art movements at such venues as The Museum of African Art, ArtExpo, the National Black Fine Art Show and as a professor at Monroe College and the College of Technology, City University of New York and has served as consultant on special art projects for major corporations including Lehman Brothers and Kraft Foods.
Among her media credits are: Art Business News, ArtSpeak, The New York Daily News, Newsday, The New York Times, The Amsterdam News and City Sun newspapers; Décor, Black Enterprise, Essence, Art Preview, Country Living and The Network Journal Magazines; WBET, New York Fox 5 Television, and WBAI, WWRL and WLIB radio.
Kraft Foods, Lehman Brothers, Colgate Palmolive, Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise Magazine, Africa America Institute, Downstate Medical Center, Bronx Psychiatric Center, National Urban League, and the Greenwich Art Worship have been among her corporate and institutional clients. Ms. Crawford’s other professional experience includes positions as an Economist and Management Analyst for the Government of Jamaica and Marketing Analysis Manager for Reader’s Digest. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Monroe College, where she has served for over 20 years.
She holds an MBA in Marketing from Michigan State University, and a Master of Science in Finance from Iona College.
