Paint it Pink is a gala reception with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served amid some of the finest works of art being produced by artists of African, Caribbean and Latin American Ancestry. Enjoy culinary delicacies and acquire art, while you network with artists, dealers, curators, professionals and other art lovers to help raise funds for good cause, breast cancer awareness and advocacy.

Why: October is National Breast Cancer Awareness (NBCAM)

When: Thursday, October 2, 6 - 10 P.M.

NBCA is dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer issues, especially the importance of early detection. According to the World Health Organization, more than 1.2 million people will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. In the United States, the American Cancer Society estimates that this year approximately 40,000 women will die from breast cancer. While the incidences of breast cancer are lower for women of color than in white women, the mortality rate is significantly higher for women of color. For women under forty the incidence is higher for women of color than it is for white women.
